Marco La Pera was born in Rome in 1971. He started Aikido at the age of 12.
After studying abroad in the U.S. (Boston) and Germany (Heidelberg), he returned to Rome where he graduated in International Relations, and took up training with Renato Tamburelli Sensei (5th Dan , student of Tada Sensei).
In 1998 he moved to Tokyo to practice Aikido at Tada Sensei’s Gessoji Dojo and at the Hombu Dojo. In 1999 he received the Shodan from Tada Sensei. In 2000, after a two and a half year intensive and rigorous training in Japan, he returned to Rome, and in March 2005 he opened the Banyuaiki Dojo. He travels periodically to Japan to further his Aikido training. He is presently 3rd Dan.
